BREAKFAST RUN - LEOPARD LODGE 20 MAY 2007
We departed Porsche centre at 08h00 after fresh coffee, fruit juices and scones were enjoyed by the early risers to kick-start the juices for a fantastic three course breakfast awaiting us in the mountains. 44 cars, including the ever and increasing numbers of 356 models, joined us on the run - 84 members in total, not being threatened by the early morning quick shower that was in the air. Again a big thankyou to all the friendly and ever willing staff from Porsche Centre for hosting us so early in the morning.
Our venue was in the Brits area, a few kilometres from the Hartebeespoort Dam, with the road meandering all the way up the mountain (all tar of course!) to the top where the lodge is situated, with breathtaking views of the whole dam and surrounding areas.
The breakfast was served in a lapa area with a log fire in the middle and the view was thrown in for free. It threatened to rain for a few minutes but, just as quickly as the threat was there, it disappeared and the sun reappeared and it turned into one of the most beautiful early winter days imaginable. All our new members mingled with the old stalwarts and were made very welcome in a matter of minutes.
Till next time, happy Porsching.
