Time Trials
The time trial sessions will run as they have done in 2017. Cars will be split into 3 groups according to lap time/performance. The one benefit of a Phakisa weekend is there is loads of track time and space available. If for any reason your car does not comply completely within the new classes, the organizer reserves the right to place you in the applicable class. Please take note of the attached Time Trial Classes document for further info. If you are not sure of anything, please feel free to contact Michael Broom.
Time Trial Championship
We will continue to run a season championship. Points are scored as follows at each event:
1st - 10, 2nd - 8, 3rd - 6, 4th - 5, 5th - 4 6th - 3, 7th - 2, 8th onwards - 1
Where only two cars are entered into a class:
1st - 6, 2nd - 5
At the end of the season, bonus points will be awarded per event entered.
Slalom Challenge
In between your Time Trial sessions, we invite you to take part in a Slalom Challenge around a course that will be laid out in the paddock area. Cars will be set off one at a time and timed accordingly. Your best run of the day will be used for scoring, the winner of each class will be awarded a trophy. Classes will be the same as the normal Time Trial classes.
Handicap Pursuit Race
This is a fun race at the end of the day for all cars (BMW and other) that are race prepared i.e. roll cage, kill switches, extinguishers etc. It will comprise a single 8 lap race where the best times recorded in the sessions will determine the starting order and time difference. Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 finishers overall. This race does not count towards any championships.
Bridgestone Hot Laps
The fee is R100 for 2 laps with a professional driver and will run from the first time trial sessions in session 2, and 3.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
We will have our traditional pit braai on the Friday night for those attending. You can order braai packs (500g) as part of your registration which have been sponsored by LESAVERT.
